Buffet restaurants are becoming more and more popular these days. For a set price, you can eat all you want until you drop. Dad’s Buffet Megamall or Dad’s Saisaki-Kamayan World Buffet is one of the more popular buffet venues in Metro Manila. Its location makes a huge contribution to its vast number of loyal diners. It is on the 4th floor of SM Megamall, at the Bridgeway connecting buildings A & B. We have dined here several times, so in this review, I’ll share information like their location, what to expect in terms of the menu, their hours, their most current pricing, and our dining experience.

Dad’s Buffet Location
Dad’s Buffet is in SM Megamall, located in Mandaluyong City. It’s just along EDSA, one of the Philippines’ major thoroughfares in Metro Manila. You can get here by getting on a cab or a bus that passes by Mandaluyong, EDSA. Two MRT stations are only a few minutes walking distance from the mall: MRT Shaw Blvd. station (Shangri-La Plaza Mall) or MRT Ortigas station (Robinson’s Galleria). Dad’s World Buffet is on the 4th floor of Bridgeway connecting Megamall buildings A & B. It occupies a huge space, and you’ll never miss it.

The Setting and Ambiance
Dad’s World Buffet really lives up to its name—you’ll see different world cuisines and themes the moment you walk in. From the partitions around the dining area to the uniforms of the staff managing the queue, even up to the setup of the buffet stations, everything reflects a mix of global influences. But despite all that variety, there’s still a clear Filipino heart to the place. You’ll notice the native wall décor and the receptionists in their Filipiñana dresses, which I personally found charming.

What I liked most was how spacious and welcoming the whole area feels. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the tables were arranged well enough to move comfortably, even with the number of regulars and new diners coming in.
Just a heads-up: if you want to be among the first to enter, you really have to come at least an hour early. When we visited, there was already a long line outside even before the buffet opened. And once you get inside, there’s another line as they manage the flow of people entering the dining area. It can get a bit chaotic if your table is near the entrance because of all the movement and queuing, so that’s something to consider.
Dad’s Buffet Menu
The food selection featured a vibrant mix of popular world cuisines. For appetizers, there were several fresh salads, followed by Japanese favorites like sushi and tempura, as well as Chinese staples such as dumplings and noodles. The spread continued with Italian pastas, American-style ham and barbecue, and flavorful Persian kebabs.

Of course, Filipino dishes were well-represented—from classics like adobo, dinuguan, and pinakbet to the star of any fiesta or special occasion: crispy pork lechon. For dessert, guests enjoyed mini cakes, sweet pastries, and a variety of ice creams, along with several refreshing juice options.

The Taste and Quality
Yes, it’s totally normal to feel overwhelmed at first—I honestly didn’t know where to start either. The whole spread is so colorful and mouthwatering that your eyes almost get full before your stomach does. But trust me, take it slow with what you put on your plate. It’s okay to sample a little first so you can enjoy more without wasting food. (They do charge extra for leftovers, so better be mindful.)
We usually go early, so we’re among the first ones in. The food is still steaming hot at that time, which makes a big difference. I appreciate that everything looks good and appetizing. They use food warmers for most dishes. Ingredients are generally good, but I have to admit there were a few things I didn’t enjoy. Some vegetables weren’t as fresh anymore, and a couple of meat dishes were either too dry or a bit salty for my taste.
So to get the most out of my buffet experience, I go for the pricier items first (hello sushi, tempura, and of course, lechon!). Then I grab small portions of whatever looks interesting just to taste-test. After that, I go back for my second—and yes, even my third—round for the dishes I truly loved.
Overall, I’d still give Dad’s a solid 4 in terms of taste and food quality.
