Our flight from Manila to Vietnam was delayed by a day. As a result, we had to adjust and move all our bookings. First, our hotel that had been reserved for weeks before our trip, and second, our sleeper bus, as we planned to travel directly to Sapa as soon as we arrived at the airport. We worried that they would not accommodate our short notice. We booked through Klook, and fortunately, the bus company’s chat support was friendly, accommodating, and responsive. They easily moved our booking to our new arrival date without any additional fee.

Sleeper Bus Pick Up Stations and Schedules

We arrived early morning and as a result, had to rest a bit at the airport. The bus company had set up specific schedules at some establishments where they usually pick up passengers, and they also pick up directly from the airport, which was favorable for us. Our pick-up time was 7 AM, and the bus arrived a little early. Our sleeper bus was mainly fuschia pink with flowers, hearts, and cartoon characters from the inside out, so it was visible from several meters away.

They gave us plastic bags for our shoes before boarding, while they stored our luggage underneath. We boarded the bus in our socks to keep the carpeted bus floor clean. We brought our backpacks into our berths, which contained our valuables: passports, wallets with IDs and cards, electronics, and other things we might need during the trip. My husband and I were assigned top berths—one for him and one for me and our son.

Our berth came with a pillow, blanket, bottled water, privacy curtain, and seatbelt. It’s like bunk beds on wheels. We were able to lie down and straighten our legs. Each berth has a huge window with blackout curtains so we can either sightsee or sleep during the trip. Our son slept through most of the journey!

Sleeper Bus Travel Time, Stops, and Ticket Rate

We made two stops for bathroom breaks and snacks during the six-hour trip. Bathrooms cost 3,000 VND, and slippers were provided for those who wanted to go down. We also found canteens and huge warehouse-style stores selling everything from Vietnamese snacks to household items.

The driver definitely knew the route—and drove FAST! 😅 The winding roads approaching Sapa even made our ears pop. Thankfully, we had seatbelts.

We paid ₱1,926 for two berths, one way, and after arriving at the bus company’s Sapa office, we simply took a cab to our hotel.

Overall? Comfortable, convenient, and definitely an experience worth trying!
