Planning a Boracay escape for the family? The first question is always: how much will it actually cost? Here’s a real-world budget breakdown and Boracay travel expenses for a family of 4 on a 5-day, 4-night stay.
We took our family of 4 — three adults (one over 60) and one child — for a full 5-day, 4-night stay, and we tracked every single peso to see how much a Boracay family trip would cost in 2026. From gas to groceries, boat fees to hotel bills, here’s the honest, complete breakdown.

Getting to Caticlan and Boracay Island
Our hometown, President Roxas, Capiz, is roughly a 3.5-hour drive, 166 kilometers from Caticlan. We are fortunate to be this close to Boracay that we do not need a plane to reach Caticlan; nonetheless, we still had to shell out some funds for a safe, seamless land trip.
To prepare for the long drive, we filled our gas tank and had a good, hearty lunch (chicken inasal with unlimited rice, anyone?). Since this is not our first time, we also know that groceries can be more expensive on the island, so we picked up some groceries along the way – our preferred personal products, and some instant food and snacks.

After roughly a 4-hour drive, we arrived at the Caticlan jetty port. The first thing we looked for was a secure parking space. Below shows the breakdown of our gas and parking expenses to and from Caticlan.
| ITEM | AMOUNT (₱) |
|---|---|
| Gas | ₱2,040 |
| Parking Per night at the port area | ₱250 / night |
| Total Gas and Parking Cost | ₱3,040 |
💡 Tip: If staying 4 nights, parking adds up to ₱1,000. Factor this into your total road trip budget.

Boracay Transportation: Port, Boat & E-trike Fees
As soon as you arrive at Caticlan port, you will need to cross to the other side by boat, then ride an e-trike to your hotel. Being a world-famous tourist spot, expect a variety of fees to reach the other side, the paradise of Boracay Island. Further below is the full rate breakdown of what we paid for, so you know exactly what to expect at each step.
| FEE TYPE | RATE |
|---|---|
| Terminal Fee Adults over 60: ₱120 · Kids 5 and below: FREE | ₱150 / adult |
| Environmental Fee (Entry) Kids 5 and below: FREE | ₱150 / adult |
| Boat Fee Senior rate: ₱45 · Kids 5 and below: FREE | ₱60 / adult |
| E-Trike · Port → Station 3 Hotel ₱50 per person (₱200 total for 4 pax) | ₱50 / person |
| E-Trike · Commuting around Boracay Flat rate per ride | ₱15 / person |

Please note that we paid extra for convenience and purchased our ticket at the stand-alone ticket booth just before entering the jetty port. Instead of paying just P1,035, we paid P1,200. They got our IDs and just processed all the fees, instead of us queuing in different windows to pay for the various fees. As soon as we got our tickets, one of their staff members assisted us. We just passed through the security, then we were ushered to the boat.
| DIRECTION | TOTAL COST |
|---|---|
| Going In (terminal + env fee + boat+ convenience fee) | ₱1,200 |
| Going Out | ₱585 |
| E-trike | ₱430 |
| Total Transportation Cost | ₱2215 |
💡 Tip: Kids under 5 travel FREE on terminal fees, environmental fees, and boat rides — a big saving for families with toddlers.

Boracay Travel Expenses for a Family: Food & Grocery Expenses
Food is where the budget can really vary. It could mainly depend on the number of family/group members, your food choices, whether you prefer high-end restaurants versus fast food, and so on. Our family is used to home-cooked meals, mostly seafood and vegetables. The husband and I follow some eating restrictions and do intermittent fasting. We kept these in mind as we mixed eating out at restaurants, some fast food, some local eateries for breakfast, mainly for our son and my mom, and some with groceries. Mixing things up also kept the costs manageable. Here’s the day-by-day breakdown.
| PERIOD | AMOUNT (₱) |
|---|---|
| Day 1 (w/ Pre-trip Lunch) | ₱1,240 |
| Day 2 | ₱2,585 |
| Day 3 | ₱3,442 |
| Day 4 | ₱2,079 |
| Day 5 | ₱700 |
| Groceries | ₱966 |
| 🧾 Total Food Expenses | ₱11,012 |

💡 Day 3 was our biggest food day at ₱3,442 — It was a splurge buffet lunch for my mom’s birthday. Day 5 was lean at ₱700 since we were heading home.
