During our recent trip to Boracay, we stayed at Astoria Current. It’s one of the beachfront highend hotels in the famous island. If you’re looking for a hotel that balances comfort, convenience, and elegance, here’s my Astoria Current Boracay review to help you decide if this hotel deserves a spot on your shortlist.
Of course, every traveler has different preferences, so I’m sharing my experience and the things I personally loved (and a few things to consider) before booking.

Location: Is Astoria Current’s Station 3 Location Good?
One of the island’s FAQs, is Station 3 a good place to stay in Boracay? For me, the location was actually one of Astoria’s strongest points. Unlike the busier parts of Station 2, Station 3 felt more relaxed and less crowded while still being close enough to restaurants, shops, and activities. We appreciate the balance between accessibility and a quieter environment.
The hotel is directly beachfront, so stepping out of the property and immediately seeing the powdery white sand and the blue green seawater was our highlight. Boracay is unwaveringly beautiful and picturesque!
Our family is so much a beach lover that we were outside swimming and playing in the sand every day while there. My 5 year old son was the happiest and said that his favorite part of our vacation was that the hotel was so close to the beach. He played with the water and his sandcastles mornings and afternoons.

Rooms and Cleanliness: What Are the Rooms Like?
One thing I noticed immediately was how streamlined, modern and well-maintained the hotel looked.
Our room felt fresh, clean, and comfortable. The design was elegant and contemporary without feeling over-the-top. We had the Premier Room with 2 queen beds, a huge comfort room with rainshower over bath, basic toiletries, water heater and complimentary drinks, plates, utensils and a sink, a microwave, a tv, wifi access, workspace if needed, a pool view, and more. After long days under the Boracay sun, it was nice returning to a room that felt cozy and relaxing. We can’t ask for anything more.
Cleanliness is one of Astoria Current Boracay review highlights, one of consistently praised aspects, and I can definitely understand why. Many reviews highlight the cleanliness of both the rooms and common areas.
They have a daily cleaning schedule for all rooms although you can ask for privacy by hanging your privacy note on the door handle. You can also schedule cleaning at a later time as long as it is still during the cleaning hours.

Every morning, we pass by the dining hall and see guests enjoy their breakfast buffet. There was a good variety of options, having both Filipino favorites and international choices available.
The beachfront dining atmosphere made breakfast even more enjoyable.
Unfortunately, this is something we did not experience this time since we did not include breakfast to our booking. The husband and I skip breakfast daily and follows an IF schedule so we just bought breakfast for our son and my mom.

Pools and Amenities: Are They Worth It?
If you’re traveling with kids or simply want alternatives to the beach, the resort offers several pools and recreational facilities.
I liked that there were multiple areas where guests could relax, swim, or just lounge around. The property feels spacious enough that it never felt overly crowded during our stay.

Travelers frequently mention the pools, family-friendly setup, and modern facilities as major reasons for recommending the resort.
They have showers and comfort rooms near the pool areas. There’s also a gym, a snack bar, and a spa if you need a massage, for a fee. The hotel also offered extra services like loaning out free beach towels and offering drying services to guests.
Customer Service: Is Astoria Current’s Staff Really That Good?
If there was one thing that consistently stood out during our stay, it was the service. We were welcomed warmly during our check-in. The process was seamless and after the documentation and needed IDs and signatures, they ushered us in for our welcome snacks. We were then pleased to see our room, and our luggages were already there when we get in.
Our whole hotel stay was filled with greetings and accommodating staff. From check-in to check-out, they were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. It was the kind of service that felt genuine.
This is actually one of the most frequently mentioned compliments in guest reviews, with many travelers describing the staff as accommodating, attentive, and professional.

Is Astoria Current Family-Friendly?
As someone who notices how hotels cater to different types of travelers, I can confidently say in this review that Astoria Current Boracay works well for families.
The beachfront access, pools, spacious areas, and attentive staff make it convenient for those traveling with children or older family members.
I specifically recommend the resort because of its amenities, accessibility, safety, and overall atmosphere.
This hotel is best for:
- Couples
- Families
- First-time Boracay visitors
- Travelers who want beachfront access without staying in the busiest area of the island
Things to Consider Before Booking
No hotel is perfect, and there are a few things future guests should know.
- Station 3 is quieter, but it means a longer walk to some of the busiest areas in Station 2. If you have family members that are over 60, walking to station 2 for more restaurant options might not be the best idea as it is still about 1.5 kilometers to D’Mall, about 20-25 minutes walk. Riding an etrike for P15 per head to D’Mall would be the easiest alternative.
- Some travelers feel the rates are slightly higher compared to nearby hotels. This depends on your budget – researching their rates and comparing rooms and amenities before booking would be the best course of action.
- We were required a Php5,000 security deposit during check in, which was also returned upon checkout, and were invited to membership marketing presentations – Please note: We are already members of the AVLCI since last year.
Personally, whether these are deal-breakers will depend on your travel style and priorities.

Concluding our Astoria Current Boracay review and experience, overall, I can say our stay was a memorable one.
What stood out most for me was the combination of a beachfront location, modern comfortable rooms, excellent service, and a more relaxed Station 3 atmosphere. It offered the kind of Boracay experience that allowed us to enjoy both the excitement of the island and moments of peace away from the crowds.
Would I stay here again? Absolutely.
